Opinião: 4° livro da série KGI. Este livro “desviou-se” um pouco, a autora introduziu aspectos de ficção cientifica, eu até gosto, mas fiz a leitura a achar tudo um pouco estranho. É um bom romance, mas a relação entre os protagonistas foi rapida demais. Este livro é o começo de algo, existem muitas perguntas que ficam sem resposta. Eu esperava encontrar no seguinte ( já li), mas nem tudo teve resposta. Neste livro esta em destaque:

Nathan: um dos gémeos Kelly que ainda se encontra activo no exercito. Tem uma ligação muito forte com o gémeo Joe. Brincalhão, dos dois é o mais “sério”. Na ultima missão algo corre mal e é feito prisioneiro. A única coisa que faz com que resista é uma voz de uma mulher que inicialmente acredita ser uma anjo. Uma voz que conversa com ele, e que de alguma forma absorve a dor das sessões de tortura.

Shea: viveu uma vida protegida e de mentira. Tem um dom é telepata e consegue absorver a dor de alguém. A telepatia é aleatória e por algum motivo estabelece ligação com Nathan que vai ajudar pondo em risco a sua protecção e a da sua irmã. Após o assassinato dos pais fogem e separam-se de forma a evitarem serem levadas para laboratórios. Nathan vai marca-la e decide fazer de tudo para o ajudar.

A um dado momento é ela que vai precisar de ajuda. O que descobre com Nathan vai desacreditar tudo em que sempre acreditou. O romance é rapido, por um lado entendo, devido a tudo o que viveram através da ligação telepatica, mas às vezes achava que faltava algo. Este é um livro com bastante acção, e momentos marcantes.
